皆が知っているお決まりのロマンスストーリー。
その女性は、ハーレムの彼女の家の地下にあるスクリーンプリントスタジオを一人の男性に案内した。
そして、その女性と男性は彼らのブランドを始める事を決心する。
男性の名前は、ブランドン　ダウナー、女性の名前は、キャロライン　ディッキー。
ある夏のバーベキューの時に、ブランドンはキャロラインに彼女のスタジオを案内する様に上手く丸め込んだ。
そしてすぐに沢山のアイディアが浮かび上がり、チーフ＆ミスチーフは誕生した。
キャロラインは『ゆっくり、焦らず』と提案したが、１週間も経たない内に、数えきれない程のアイディアや名前、ロゴなど全ての事がものすごい勢いで動き始めた。
ニューヨークで彼らは着々とスキルを磨き、沢山の刺激を受け、確実に成長していた。
そんな時に、東京に拠点を移して、活動出来るチャンスに巡り会えた。

そして１年半後、チーフ＆ミスチーフのデビュー作、ハンドプリントシャツが誕生した。
チーフ＆ミスチーフは、シンプルでクラシックな美しさをベースに、モダンな世界を美しく変えてしまうような色、音楽、イメージやアイディアを上手く取り入れ表現している。
チーフ＆ミスチーフのデザインは、シンプルやクラシックになりすぎない様に心がけているが、だからといって、ただ流行を取り入れただけのデザインというものでもない。
この両方を上手く取り入れたのがチーフ＆ミスチーフのデザインの凄さだと思う。
彼らは、チーフ＆ミスチーフを通して、彼らの考える本当の世界観を皆に伝え、理解してもらい、それを共有出来ることを望んでいる。

You know the old story. Boy meets girl. Girl shows boy her basement screenprinting studio in Harlem. Boy and girl start their own brand. Brandon Downer (chief designer, c&m) persuaded Caroline Dickie (principal mischief, c&m) to give him a tour of her self-made silkscreen studio during a summer BBQ. From that moment, flashbulbs went off, and chief&mischief was born. Caroline suggested that ﾒwe go slow,ﾓ but within a week they had a million and one ideas, a name and logo, and the partnership was moving full speed ahead.

After a few months of honing their skills and drawing inspiration from NYC, they moved to Tokyo based on an offer that could not be refused. Now, one-and-one-half years later, they are celebrating the launch of chief&mischief's debut hand-printed t-shirt collection!
ﾒOur brand and collection demonstrate our appreciation for the lasting beauty of simplicity and classic forms, as well as the complex of colors, music, images and ideas that make the modern world such a beautiful, and sometimes scary collage. In our designs, we try to reflect our appreciation for both. We don't want to be too simple or classic that we are not challenging ourselves, but we don't to be edgy for the sake of being edgy. Our goal is to present our authentic view of the world and hope that people like itﾓ. - Caroline & Brandon
